Life and Lana – Spring Events

I have been overwhelmed with the positive response my events received after beginning only a few months ago. I have been blessed to work with so many small businesses as sponsors and venues, and meet so many local families and women!

Another huge blessing I received was bring notice by Britany Cervantes, also known as @thebritanyjay on social media. She is he founder of a parent support group known as

Britany started a second Instagram to post family friendly photos of restaurants and local events. After success through that account, she realized she needed to expand her team and move past Instagram to an actual website! I was so excited for her, but even more so when she asked me to join her as an event coordinator. Britany was ready to stop attending events and start hosting them!

I am working alongside Brenda Jasso of The Adolescent Parent who is the teams media coordinator. Together we will be creating great content, starting with our launch party! Although I will still host my own events, I will be focusing the majority of my time on the Parent Guide in 2019.

This was the DFWPG’s first public event! A ton of moms and their little ones joined us for May the Fourth – the unofficial Star Wars Holiday – to celebrate all the FORCE that we bring to the table! Halcyon had Star Wars Themed Coffee and treats that day as well as trivia in the evening!

Moms brought their kiddos and each had their own flower, soil and a pot to plant together! we also shared a meal with other local moms and their children. Our youngest kiddo was a month old, and our oldest was in their teens!

The DFW Parent Guides Launch Party

Tickets: FREE (Invite Only)

Included: Snacks, treats, open champagne bar; photobooth & prints, goodie bags

Venue: Vuestra Studio & Eventspace Lewisville

This event was exclusive and invite only. The DFWPG Team painstakingly went through various different instagrams for local influencers and bloggers who fit our values and family centered theme. We did the same with sponsors because we wanted family friendly and family run businesses! Vuestra Studio has partnered with me for a YouTube Video previously, and luckily wanted to collab again and host us! We sent out the official invitations and nervously waited for a response. The RSVPs came rolling in and so did the amazing support of our fellow parents!

The Drink Fairy Mobile Bartender

We wanted to make a point of inviting all types of families. The DFWPG supports blended families, single moms and dads, gay parents, parents of all religions, and wanted to make sure that dads are not left out of the traditional nuclear family. So often there are mommy centered events that do not allow the dad to participate and just are not accessible for single or working moms. We wanted to change that.

The dads showed up and showed out! All our supportive hubbys and boyfriends showed up and made new connections with other hard working dads or stepdads. We were so happy to hear how they were finally comfortable and accepted into a community that wasn’t focusing on moms!

We had short speeches to introduce ourselves and our mission, but overall had so much fun getting champagne drunk thanks to The Drink Fairy, taking photos at the RAD Snaps Photobooth or with the WOW Balloons decor, and eating snacks from our many vendors!

More events are in the works for The DFWPG. Stay tuned!!

Crafts for a Cause – Benefitting Chasing Grace Inc.

Tickets: $25

Venue: New Vida Church

Included: Snacks, Sweets, Plain Wooden Wreatg, faux flowers, ribbon, basic guidance for wreath, goodie bags, raffle entry, free facial Vouchers with Ashley Damico

Although I felt overwhelmed by planning the launch party for the DFWPG, I wanted to extend my services to Chasing Grace after hearing about their mission to help young women achieve leadership roles and confidence! This local charity stands for everything I believe in, and New Vida Church offered us a great venue in exchange for canned goods. We had a ton of sponsors help us out so that our guests would have a good time as we created wooden floral wreaths! I hosted this sold out event along with Jess of @jesslovelyco. She has attended multiple events of mine and reached out about getting out of her comfort zone and cohosting with me, and I’m so glad she did. This is a great example of the connections my events have allowed me to create. For more info on Chasing Grace Inc. and how to donate, visit their website.
